So corn beef and cabbage with some potatoes and carrots. Did you have some? Did you know this really isn't an Irish dish. When the Irish settlers came over they were looking for a dish pertaining to their new area of home land. They found that it was some bacon but at those times the bacon was too expensive, So they had corned beef. That meat which is actually pickled, was a lot cheaper and the cabbage was a cheaper vegetable to go with it. Now, it's called corned because of the size of the salts they used to brine it. The salt was the size of corn, hence corned beef lol I thought that was funny and a fun thing to learn..
I hope you had a great lucky day!
